A prelude to the main conference on Saturday afternoon 24 October and Sunday morning 25 October, is the Fringe, a special program for students and new graduates. The Fringe is sponsored by the University of South Australia Library and is being held at the University's new City West Campus, opposite the main conference venue.
A large number of eminent practitioners have enthusiastically accepted invitations to participate in sessions on career planning, continuing education, alternative careers and traineeships. We look forward to equally enthusiastic contributions from the students and new graduates. A highlight of the program is the final session with the mentors, where participants have the opportunity to interact in small groups with 15 leaders across all sectors of Australian librarianship and to join them for lunch.
