Panel presentation: Managing the Internet - content and access

This plenary session has been added to the program in response to a number of requests from all sectors of the industry indicating that managing the content on the Internet is the most controversial issue currently faced by libraries of all kinds. Intellectual property, copyright, funding electronic access to information, censorship and filtering are issues of wide-spread concern in public and state libraries, as well as in education libraries. For this reason the Conference Committee has invited a panel of outstanding speakers with particular expertise in this area to address the topic from a range of perspectives: legal, educational and social.

Victoria will be addressing the key legal issues associated with the Internet, indicating the current position and flagging developments and possible solutions.

Jillian DellitJillian Dellit - Education.Au (formerly Open Learning Technology Corporation)
Jillian will explore the issues facing schools which are making increasing use of Internet resources.
