Invitation from Convenors
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to the ALIA Biennial Conference 2012 to be held from Tuesday 10 July to Friday 13 July in Sydney.
The conference theme "Discovery" was chosen to reflect the opportunity for delegates to undertake their own discovery and explore the library and information profession.
The Organising Committee is committed to delivering a relevant and exciting conference program and providing a forum where library and information professionals and students, as well as representatives of our suppliers and system developers, can have the opportunity to discuss, debate and network with colleagues from Australia and overseas, hear from national and international speakers on the many exciting developments in our profession and check out the latest in products and systems through what is planned to be an extensive trade exhibition.
A great venue, the Sydney Hilton, has been selected with superb facilities in the heart of the Sydney CBD, providing delegates and their friends and family a wonderful opportunity to discover and explore many of Sydney's attractions and its rich variety of museums, galleries, parks, beaches, entertainment, restaurants, cafes, shopping and business precincts, all within easy walking distance from the hotel. For those who wish to go further afield, public transport is readily accessible.
We invite you to mark these dates in your calendar and plan for attending the conference and even extending your visit with a holiday. Super Early Bird registrations will open in mid-November 2011
More information will be published on this website as soon as possible about the conference program, accommodation and information on what's on in Sydney.
We look forward to welcoming you to the ALIA Biennial 2012 Conference and to Sydney!
Warm regards
Fides Datu Lawton and Janet Fletcher, Convenors
