The event

The Australian Library and Information Association would like to extend an invitation to you for the 12th ALIA National Library Technicians Conference, which will be held at the Sheraton Hotel, Brisbane from Tuesday 9 September to Friday 12 September 2003.

The previous conference held in Hobart in 2001 attracted sponsors, exhibitors and delegates from all over Australia and overseas.

The venue

Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, is Australia's third largest city and the nation's largest city in the sub-tropics. The city enjoys a pleasant climate and relaxed lifestyle. Brisbane is a modern city built around the meandering Brisbane River. It is a city of beautiful parks, first class facilities, great shopping and an abundance of restaurants to meet every budget.

The Sheraton Brisbane Hotel and Towers is situated right in the heart of the city's shopping and central business district and above the main commuter railway station. The superb location, opposite the historic Anzac Square, is an easy walk to a myriad of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment.

All catering (morning and afternoon teas and buffet lunches) will be served in the exhibition area, thus maximising exhibitor exposure to delegates.

Package 1: Platinum sponsorship ($15 000)

• Naming rights to the conference newsletter and message board.
• Single booth at the trade exposition - includes two full conference registrations - inclusive of full day catering and welcome reception.
• Two conference dinner tickets.
• Full page mono advertisement in the conference registration brochure. (Sponsor must provide artwork)
• Full page mono advertisement in the conference handbook. Sponsor must provide artwork.
• Banner displayed in plenary session room throughout the conference. Sponsor is to provide banner - banner specifications are to be confirmed and accepted by the committee.
• Acknowledgment at opening and closing addresses.
• Sponsor name and logo mentioned in all conference literature.

Package 2: Gold sponsorship ($12 000)

• Gold sponsor receives first choice of booths after the platinum sponsor.

• Full page mono advertisement in the conference handbook. (Sponsor must provide artwork).

• Opportunity for company spokesman to address guests - maximum 2-3 minutes).
• Banner (or signage) erected at the conference dinner. (Banner or signage to be provided by sponsor).

Package 9: Keynote presenter sponsor ($4000 each)

• The words 'proudly sponsored by ... (Sponsor's Name) ... ' wherever keynote speaker's name appears.
• Exclusive wording on screen prior to speaker's presentation. 'proudly sponsored by ...' with your name and logo
• Acknowledgment by chairperson prior to the session.

Package 12: Daily catering packages ($1500 per day)

University of Queensland Library

Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Catering Packages are offered which incorporate, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (where applicable) on the above days.

Sponsors will be asked to provide apparel for catering staff to wear during the day sponsored - eg. t shirts, aprons, caps etc. This apparel will be supplied at the cost of the sponsor and will be subject to approval by the Sheraton management.

Concurrent session sponsor ($1100 per session).

Brisbane City Council

Sponsors will be given first choice of concurrent sessions based on a deposit paid basis. Concurrent sessions will be allocated upon finalisation of the conference program. These sessions will run from morning tea to lunch, lunch to afternoon tea or afternoon tea to close.

• Exclusive wording on screen saying "This session is proudly sponsored by....Sponsor Name...." At the beginning of the session.

Cancellation policy for sponsorship and exhibition:

Your cancellation must be advised in writing.

An administration fee of 25 per cent of the contracted price is retained should the cancellation be up to three months prior to the event and 100 per cent of the contracted price should cancellation be less than three months prior to the event. If your selected package is resold, then a cancellation fee of 25 per cent applies.
