neXt 2005: ALIA National Library and Information Technicians Conference
Communities of Interest
During the neXt 2005 Conference there are two very important session: The Communities of Interest (COI) sessions are an opportunity for delegates to meet and discuss issues with other delegates who share a similar professional interest. The sessions will be held on Wednesday 7 September from 3.45pm - 5.00pm and cover the following groupings:
Facilitators will lead the group in addressing a number of key topics and/or issues with a lively discussion guaranteed. Some of the topics for discussion could include new processes and new technologies, changing client expectations, training and career prospects. To make these sessions as relevant as possible we are seeking topic suggestions from you, our delegates. If you have a HOT TOPIC to suggest, please send your suggestions, along with which COI group you want the topic discussed in to: Clare Bristow by August 20th ALIA Forum, Session 6 on Thursday 8 September. Titled Morphing The Technician: Where Next? With input from participants this workshop will consider the roles of Library Technicians in the past and present, and explore what they can do in the future. The workshop will be chaired by current convenor of the National Group, Rebecca Evans, and Georgina Dale from ALIA. |
