Well its now only 5 days until start of conference and I'm sure you are all planning your packing and making your arrangements to meet up with old friends and colleagues. Thats a lot of what conferences are about!

Only 5 weeks to go! The conference is growing with each day that passes as more and more delegates, exhibitors and sponsors join us. We now have a sellout exhibition and are moving into overflow space in the foyer! Its exciting to know that the conference will give delegates a great opportunity to see a broad range of products and services. Make sure you visit each and every one of the exhibitors.

Our Tuesday Industry tours are proving a hit with a 90% take-up by registered delegates. A couple of points to make about the tours:

delegates are responsible for making their way to their selected libraries where conference representatives will meet them.
Make sure you leave time between tours to move around the city. Don't book back to back tours as you'll need to be Superwoman/man to get there! If you're unsure about what you have booked and need some advice contact Matthew Griffiths our Tour Coordinator.
Maps showing locations of all city tours will be emailed out to all registered delegates within the next 2 weeks.
Tour buses leave from behind the Darling Harbour Shopping centre, right next door to the Convention centre where the conference is being held.

New to conference going or need a refresher? Check out our Hints and Tips pages for good advice on getting the most out of attending the neXt2005 conference. Good advice includes:

Bring at least two pairs of shoes (you'll need the change and variety)!
Always try to go to the opening session each day - then you'll have something incommon to talk about with new people you meet for the rest of the conference. The opening Sessions are designed to be engaging and challenging and feature the keynote speaker.
Talk to the exhibitors - DON'T assume that your old familiar vendors haven't changed and that you know everything about them. This is your opportunity to learn what's new and different!

neXt 2005 will be offering delegates an amazing range of industry tours. Running throughout the day on Tuesday 6th September, delegates will be able to 'pick and mix' the tours that interest them from over 40 libraries, archives and vendor sites. This is an exciting development! Further information will be available in March

Abstracts have been sorted and the program is underway. Stay tuned for more information about keynote speakers in the new year.

The Call for Papers has closed and we are currently sorting through the entries. A big thankyou to everyone who submitted abstracts - there has been a strong response. The details of the Program will be available for downloading from the website in March.
