ALIA Acquisitions will host a seminar with Keynote speaker Derek Whitehead, ALIA President 2008/2009 and foundation member of the Acquisitions Group. Derek will provide an overview and reflection of acquisition processes and practices, complementing a full program of presenters covering a range of topical issues related to the acquisition of resources for our libraries and information agencies.

Presentations will include selection and source; e-resources-their acquisition and management; access and equity issues; storage solutions and Web 2.0 technology in relation to acquisitions. The day will conclude with a panel of Library Technicians showcasing individual case studies of their role in the acquisitions arena incorporating hints and tips and a few trade secrets.
