State Library of New South Wales
The State Library of New South Wales consists of the Mitchell Library, Dixson Library and Macquarie Street Wing (home of the State Reference Library). There are regular tours of the Library (check the website for details). There is always an exhibition being held in the Library (check the website for details).

Cocktail Party - Transport Options

Getting to the Cocktail Party

Buses have been arranged to transport delegates to the Cocktail Party at the State Library of NSW. Buses will be leaving from High Street from 5.30pm and will drop you at the entrance to the Mitchell Wing of the State Library.

Private cars can travel to the Cocktail Party and park in private parking stations. There is limited parking around the venue itself. If you are driving, please consider filling your car with delegates. You can organise this by posting a message on the noticeboard near the Registration desk.

Taxis can be hailed from the street, or booked by ringing Taxis Combined on 8332 8888. You should ask to be dropped off at the State Library in Macquarie Street and you can walk around the corner to the Mitchell Wing to the Cocktail Party.

Getting Home from the Cocktail Party

Buses - A limited number of buses have been arranged to bring delegates back to UNSW and the Randwick area. These buses will be departing the State Library at 8.40pm from the front of the Mitchell Wing of the State Library.

Private cars - If you have taken delegates to the cocktail party, please check with them if they would like a lift back to UNSW or the Randwick area.

Public Transport - If you decide to stay in the City after the Cocktail Party for more adventuring, there are a number of buses that travel back to the Eastern Suburbs from the City. State Transit can provide you with more details.

Taxis can be hailed from the street, or booked by ringing Taxis Combined on 8332 8888. It would cost you about $30 to get back to the Randwick area.

Getting to the Dinner

Buses - There will be a shuttle bus departing from UNSW to take delegates to the AJC. The pick up point is CHECK AT NLS2006. The shuttle will depart at 6.20pm and 6.40pm from the bus stop in High Street.

Walking - It is possible to walk to the dinner venue from UNSW and Randwick. The entrance to the AJC is on Alison Road. Please see map attached of the area.

Private cars can park for free in the AJC carpark off Alison Road – if you are driving, please consider filling your car with delegates. You can organize this by posting a message on the noticeboard near the Registration desk.

Public Transport - A bus stop outside the AJC and can be caught from both the City and the Randwick area. State Transit can provide you with more details.

Getting Home from the Dinner

Buses - UNSW and the Randwick area. The buses will be departing on a shuttle basis from the AJC at 11.00pm and midnight to drop delegates off at UNSW and the Randwick area.

Walking - It is possible to walk back to UNSW and Randwick from the AJC. If you do walk, please take a friend with you.

Public Transport - There are a number of buses that travel back to the Eastern Suburbs from the AJC. AJC. Walk out of the entrance to the AJC, and across the road to the Bus Avenue where buses depart at regular intervals.
