Open Forum Panel Discussion: Back To The Future

Date: Friday 16 September 2011
Time: 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Venue: Pan Pacific Perth
Cost: $45 Conference Delegates/ALIA Members; $60 Non-Delegates/Non-ALIA Members(Registration Cost includes entry into the "Remixer" Function, see below)

Open Forum Panel Discussion - a joint ALIA New Librarians' Symposium and ALIA National Library and Information Technicians Conference Event. The Organising Committee were excited to invite twenty eight industry leaders from the Western Australian Library and Information Community to a planning meeting to present and discuss the 'Back to the Future Forum’ - an event adjoining the two ALIA Perth 2011 Conferences. Twenty seven people accepted our invitation and enthusiastically embraced the idea and contributed to the discussion. The Committee has taken on board the suggestions from the planning meeting and highly anticipates the Forum will lead to some challenging and interesting discussion about the sustainability of the industry and our profession. A cross section of passionate ‘industry insiders’ from Australia and overseas have taken up the challenge and accepted our invitation to be on the panel. We are delighted to have the opportunity to challenge our speakers and engage our audience, to look at our future and the way forward for our libraries in a forever-changing information environment.

Delegates may register as part of the Conference Registration Process. Non-Delegates may register by downloading, completing & returning the Registration Form (PDF: 108kb)

Join us to celebrate the Conference at the opening drinks. Farewell Libtech attendees and welcome delegates attending the ALIA 5th New Librarians Symposium. The 'Remixer' is a great opportunity to relax, debrief and network with library colleagues.

Symposium Dinner

The NLS Organising Committee regrets to announce that the Dinner River Cruise has been cancelled due to lack of numbers. If you had registered and paid for the dinner, a refund will be issued prior to the Symposium.

As an alternative the Committee is pleased to announce the opportunity for delegates to experience Perth restaurant culture in small intimate settings with industry colleagues. Instead of a traditional 'Conference Dinner', ALIA NLS5 has selected some great restaurants in and around the Perth CBD.

Please access the registration page and enter your attendee login. On the Social Functions page, you can indicate which option you would be interested in attending.
