Social Programme
The conference committee is working on a social
program which will combine the chance to network, meet new people
and catch up with old friends. The conference dinner will be a night
to remember! And keep your eye on this page to see the touring
options which are available in and around Adelaide for both
conference delegates and those accompanying them.
Welcome Reception
The Welcome Reception will also be the opening of the trade exhibition, and will feature some of Adelaide's finest jazz musicians, entertainers and tempting nibbles. Admission is included in your registration fee. Not to be missed!
Cocktails
Conference Cocktails will be held at the new State Library of South
Australia complex on Monday 25 August. Located on North Tce a few minutes' walk from the Convention Centre, the State Library unveiled its new building in July 2003. Take the opportunity dudring your visit to Adelaide to join your colleagues on a tour of the new library, followed by a glass of wine and cocktail food.
Early morning walk
Bush Tucker - an early morning walk
Tuesday 26th August, 7.00am - 9.00am
Cost: $50 per person - includes guide, bush tucker and transfers.
This early morning walk meanders through the Adelaide Botanic Garden. An Aboriginal guide introduces participants to the culture of her group and the traditional ways in whcih they used native plants for food, medicine, shelter and artefacts. A bush tucker tasting is part of the experience.
Dinner
A Dinner to tantalise your tastebuds, entertain your ears (and feet!) and
stimulate the mind is organised for the Tuesday night. Don't forget that the dinner is included in your registration and is proudly sponsored by LexisNexis.
We are delighted to announce that Mem Fox, author of
over 25 picture books for children including Possum Magic and Koala Lou and
a number of books for adults including Reading Magic which focuses on the
benefits of reading to children, will be the guest speaker at the Conference

Partners are very welcome to attend all the social functions and are able to buy tickets at the costs indicated from the Registration Desk. Tourist information on day tours in and around Adelaide is available at the Registration Desk.
