Marianne Broadbent
Dr Marianne Broadbent is the Group Vice President, Gartner, the world's largest adviser on the business uses of information technology. Marianne Broadbent leads the global research team for Gartner's Executive Programs, which has a membership base of over 1,500 Chief Information Officers worldwide. Marianne works extensively as an advisor and advice-broker with business and IT executives and management teams. Her particular areas of interest and expertise are the fusion of business and technology strategies and investments, the implications of new business models, the dynamics of the business value of IT, and the governance and management of business-driven IT, particularly in international environments.
Marianne was previously a professor in the Management of Information Systems at the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, Visiting Researcher at Boston University, and Head of the Department of Information Services at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She is co-author of the book Leveraging the New Infrastructure: How Market Leaders Capitalise on Information Technology [Harvard Business School Press, 1998] and has won two international 'Best Paper' awards. Marianne has also led her own consulting firm and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Sue Myburgh
Sue Myburgh is the Program Director of the Master of Arts (Knowledge Management) and the Master of Arts (Internet Communication Strategies) at the University of South Australia. These courses cover the broad areas of Strategic Information Management and Knowledge Management, with a focus on Information Retrieval. Her current research interest is information seeking behaviour on the Web.
Her expertise in the area of Information Management has been wide and varied, covering theory and praxis across four continents (South Africa, North America, Australia and South-East Asia) for over two decades. She has published widely in the areas of knowledge management, records management, strategic information management, and gender and technology.
She is also Foundation Director of the new Centre for Internet Studies. This Centre was established in order to recognise that a new discipline has emerged at the intersection of the disciplines of Information, Communication and Cultural studies.
David Snowden
David Snowden is the Director of IBM's Centre for Action Research in Organisational Complexity (CAROC). He was formerly a Director in the Institute for Knowledge Management where he led the Institute's programmes on complexity and narrative as well as taking geographic responsibility for the Institute's activities outside the Americas.
One of the founders of organic knowledge management, he pioneered the use of story techniques as a means of knowledge disclosure and a key aspect of creating a knowledge strategy. His subsequent work has taken him into the integration of learning and knowledge using models derived from complexity science and the development of advanced techniques for the management of informal communities and the simulation of social networks.
A gifted speaker and educator he is in regular demand as a keynote speaker worldwide. His masterclasses in a variety of subjects both public and private are highly rated and regularity sell out. David was a keynote at the 2002 BIALL Conference in Liverpool.
Richard Susskind
Professor Richard Susskind has specialised in the use of IT by lawyers and other professionals for over 20 years. He is currently an independent adviser to national governments and to major professional firms. He lectures internationally and has been invited to speak in over 40 countries. In 1998, he was appointed IT Adviser to the Lord Chief Justice of England. Richard's fourth and fifth books, The Future of Law (Oxford University Press, 1996) and Transforming the Law (Oxford University Press, 2000) are both legal best-sellers around the world. He is Professor of Law at Gresham College, London, a position that dates back to 1597. Richard is a law columnist for The Times. He has a First Class Honours degree in law from Glasgow University and a doctorate in law and computers from Balliol College, Oxford. Richard was awarded an OBE in the Millennium New Year's Honours List for services to IT in the Law and to the Administration of Justice.
Simon Tupman

Linda Watson
Linda Watson is Director of the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library,
University of Virginia at Charlottesville. She is currently President of the Medical Library Association.
Among many appointments, Linda Watson has served the MLA as Board member (1996-99), Treasurer (1997-1999) and has served as chair of the National Program Committee.
She has also served as editor of MLA News "Media News" column, as chair of the National Program Committee, and as chair of the ISI/Frank Bradway Rogers Information Advancement Award Jury. A Distinguished Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP), Watson is a recipient of MLA's Mid-Atlantic Chapter Librarian of the Year Award.
Linda began her medical library career in 1975 at the National Library of Medicine where she held several management positions until 1985. Linda is currently (2002-2005) a member of the National Library of Medicine PubMed Central National Advisory Committee. Her keynote address will cover the recent developments in PubMed, PubMed Central and the future developments planned for these services.
